Playing Doctor

Morris complained to his friend Irving, that love making with his wife was becoming routine and boring.

“Get creative Morris. Break up the monotony. Why don’t you try ‘playing doctor’ for an hour? That’s what I do,” said Irving.

“Sounds great,” Morris replied, “but how do you make it last for an hour?”

“Just keep her in the waiting room for 45 minutes!”

The Lazy Husband

The man told his doctor that he wasn’t able to do all the things around the house that he used to do. When the examination was complete, he said, “Now, Doc, I can take it. Tell me in plain English what is wrong with me?””Well, in plain English,” the doctor replied, “you’re just lazy.””Okay,” said the man. “Now give me the medical term so I can tell my wife.”

In the dark

Wife: Oh, come on.

Husband: Leave me alone!

Wife: It won’t take long.

Husband: I won’t be able to sleep afterwards.

Wife: I can’t sleep without it.

Husband: Why do you think of things like this in the middle of the night?

Wife: Because I’m Hot.

Husband: You get hot at the darnest times.

Wife: If you love me I wouldn’t have to beg you.

Husband: If you love me you’d be more considerate.

Wife: You don’t love me anymore.

Husband: Yes I do, but let’s forget it for tonight.

Wife: (Sob-Sob)

Husband: All right, I’ll do it.

Wife: What’s the matter? Need a flashlight?

Husband: I can’t find it.

Wife: Oh, for heaven’s sake, feel for it!

Husband: There! Are you satisfied?

Wife: Oh, yes, honey.

Husband: Is it down far enough?

Wife: Oh, that’s fine.

Husband: Now go to sleep. The next time, it’s your turn to get up and turn the thermostat down.

Wife: Yes, honey.

Argument

There was a guy telling his friend that he and his wife had a serious argument the night before. “But it ended,” he said, “when she came crawling to me on her hands and knees.”

“What did she say?” asked the friend.

The husband replied, “She said, ‘Come out from under that bed, you coward!'”

Shared Decision Making

My wife and I have an agreement that works… She is responsible for the small decisions, and I am responsible for the big ones.

This means that she decides things like where to take our next vacation, the color of our next car, and the construction budget for adding on the new family room.

I decide whether or not the President should extend most favored nation trading status to China, how high the Federal Reserve should go with short term interest rates, and the timetable for the elimination of CFCs from automobile air conditioners.

Harry’s Problem

Harry had a bit of a drinking problem. Every night, after dinner, he took off for the local watering hole. He spent the whole evening there, and arrived home, well inebriated, around midnight each night. He always had trouble getting his key into the keyhole, and getting the door opened. His wife, waiting up for him, would go to the door and let him in. Then she would proceed to yell and scream at him, for his constant nights out, and coming home in a drunken state. But, Harry continued his nightly routine.

One day, the wife was talking to a friend about her husband’s behavior, and was particularly distraught by it all. The friend listened to her, and then said, “Why don’t you treat him a little differently when he comes home? Instead of berating him, why don’t you give him some loving words, and welcome him home with a kiss? He then might change his ways.”

The wife thought it was worth trying. That night, Harry took off again, after dinner. And, about midnight, he arrived home, in his usual condition. His wife heard him at the door, quickly went to it, opened the door, and let Harry in. This time, instead of berating him, as she had always done, she took his arm, and led him into the living room. She sat him down in an easy chair, put his feet up on the ottoman and took his shoes off. Then she went behind him, and started to cuddle him a little.

After a while, she said to him, “It’s pretty late. I think we had better go upstairs to bed now, don’t you?”

At that, Harry replied, in his inebriated state, “I guess we might as well. I’ll get in trouble when I get home anyway!”
